Alumnus Hebert Wins Michigan PGA Professional Championship, Alumnus Ziska Takes Second

Scott HebertROCHESTER - Ferris State University made a strong impression against the competition as alumni placed first and second in the Michigan PGA Professional Championship after the final round on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Oakland University's Katke-Cousins Golf Course.

Hebert, a Professional Golf Management alumnus, shot a three-round eight-under-par 208 as he rallied to finish four strokes ahead of Ian Ziska, also a PGM alumnus and the manager and head golf pro at Ferris' Katke Golf Course. Ziska shot a four-under-par 212 and was co-leader of the tournament after the first round.

For Hebert, the head golf professional at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa, 2012 marks his second consecutive win in the Michigan PGA Professional Championship and his sixth title in the last seven years.

Eighteen of the 72 players who made the cut were Ferris alumni.
