Quality Air Creates Scholarship for Ferris HVACR Students

pictureBIG RAPIDS – Students studying Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) Technology at Ferris State University will soon benefit from the Quality Air Annual Scholarship.

“Ferris State University is an educational leader in HVACR training and has remained on pace with technological advances in the marketplace,” said Bob Middlebrook (CET ’81), Quality Air field manager. “This scholarship will help foster the continued growth of students studying HVACR.”

The company currently employs 26 Ferris graduates, with many of them taking on leadership roles at Quality Air.

“It’s a privilege to give back to Ferris State University,” Quality Air President Tim Albers said. “Ferris provides a very focused education that students can apply at Quality Air. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

College of Engineering Technology Interim Dean Ron McKean added, “Having our alumni pay it forward helps maintain Ferris as a leader in education and creates the ties that result in our graduates being sought out by industry.”

The academic scholarship will be awarded to a full-time sophomore majoring in HVACR who has a minimum 3.2 GPA. Preference will be given to students residing within the following counties in the state of Michigan: Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Jackson, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Muskegon, Montcalm, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Mason, Lake, Osceola, Gratiot, Livingston orShiawassee.
