Ferris Theatre Presents “Months on End”

masksBIG RAPIDS – Following the intermingled relationships of family and friends over 12months, Greg Pospisil’s play “Months on End” is a charming mix of comedy and drama. With audience and actors together onstage, the evening promises to be an intimate theater experience at G. Mennen Williams Auditorium. The play opens at 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 1.

First produced at The Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, Mich., the Ann Arbor News called “Months on End” “a triumph…these 12 vignettes form crucial pieces in the eternal puzzle known as human relationships.” In a series of comic scenes – one for each month of the year – the audience follows a circle of friends and family whose lives are poised between happiness and heartbreak. The diverse scenes and characters in this play reveal an emotional range from happiness to sorrow and everything in between.

The ensemble cast includes Ferris students Keith “Keebler” Horvath, Jake White, Jessica Wunderle, Rebekah Wolf, Jack Wilband, Jackie Norey, Dustin McLaughlin, Sara Galdys, Lindsay Cyr, Jeff Norey and understudies Jasmine Clark and Jordan Cyr. The production is under the direction of associate professor Katherine LaPietra, student Assistant Director Joe Vance who is helped by Stage Manager Jerry Morse and Assistant Stage Manager Dianna Martin. Set and lighting design are by assistant professor Trinidy Williams.

Ferris Theatre provides students the opportunity to gain experience in theatre and in complimenting their career interests. The University offers a minor in theatre enabling students to acquire a general knowledge of performance and technical production as well as hands-on experience.
