BIG RAPIDS – The Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District Counselors Association, in partnership with Ferris State University, is hosting College Night from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center.
Area juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend the free, informational event to learn about higher education opportunities after high school.
College representatives from 48 institutions will be available to answer questions about financial aid, tuition, academic programs, support services, athletics and more. Other professionals will be on hand to offer information about the SAT and ACT. Four branches of the military also will be represented.
The institutions that will be at College Night range from community colleges to universities, public to private. Some of the institutions scheduled to attend include Ball State University, Johnson & Wales University, Michigan Technological University, Lawrence Technological University and the University of Michigan.
Michigan Air National Guard, U.S. Army, Air Force and the NAVY also are scheduled to attend.
“This event is a good opportunity to get more information and to learn about higher education,” said Angie Mishler, senior recruiting officer at Ferris. “It also helps students narrow down options by having all the colleges in one location.”
Mishler also said students need to bring a list of questions and an open mind to the informational event. Students do not need to register.
