BIG RAPIDS – Thirteen teams took the beach to the golf course for the 17th annual Ferris Professional Women “Life is a Beach” Golf Outing on Aug. 1.
“The weather was awesome and the golf was great,” golf outing Chair Deb Ducat said, adding the event successfully raised funds for the FPW’s annual scholarship, as well as money for the group’s book drive.
Taking first-place honors with a 1-under-par was a team from the School of Criminal Justice, which included Nancy Hogan, Linda Lamontange, Sue Pennock and Julie Saum. Ruth Hicks won the putting contest and Hogan was the winner of the day’s grand prize, a set of clubs and a golf bag. The ladies from the College of Professional and Technological Studies, including Gidget Cady, Cheryl Cluchey, Kathleen LeClaire and Sue Weaver, won the theme contest with their grass skirts and floral tops (pictured at right).
