FPW to recognize graduates, present honors at commencement breakfast

BIG RAPIDS – The Ferris Professional Women will host its May commencement breakfast honoring male and female graduates from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, in the Rankin Student Center Centennial Dining Room.

Cost is $10 per person for a breakfast buffet. Reservations are recommended and should be made by Monday, May 5, by calling Terri S. Cook at 591-2431 or e-mailing her at cookts@ferris.edu. Highlights of the FPW 2008 May commencement breakfast include a brief update on FPW activities, the introduction of graduates who will be invited to share their career plans, and the announcement of the FPW Woman of the Year and the FPW annual student scholarship recipient.

“If you lead a University unit or department or supervise student employees who are graduating this spring, please consider extending an invitation to them to join you and other staff members in celebrating their educational achievements. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get together and honor those students who we have been an extended family for four or more years," said Shelly Armstrong, FPW president.

Other FPW officers are Amber MacKenzie, vice president; Terri Cook, secretary; Lisa Besemer, treasurer; Deb Ducat, past secretary; and Mary Gallagher-Eustice, book drive coordinator.
