Adobe offers a variety of software that lets you create web pages, print documents, digital artwork, video editing and even visual effects. PDF documents are the most common type of Adobe document that you will encounter on a day-to-day basis; these are documents that can be created and distributed to anyone with the ability to control editing, forms, signatures and even compiling documents.
Creative Suite 5 is a collection of software that includes Photoshop, Flash, Acrobat X Pro, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and more. These programs give you extensive tools to manipulate photos, digital images, create animations, design web pages, and video editing. While they are powerful programs, previous knowledge or training may be required to use some of the more advanced features of this unique software package.
Ferris has a site license for Adobe Acrobat Pro that makes it available for installation on all faculty and staff computers. All other software titles are available through Ferris' volume licesning agreement at a reduced cost and must be purchased using the eHSARF system.
The Technology Assistance Center (TAC) has a ten-concurrent user license to Lynda.com. Lynda.com offers training videos on hundreds of software titles, including Adobe products. Contact the TAC if you would like to be set up with a Lynda.com account in order to access this training.
Atomic Learning is available through the Login Links channel in MyFSU. It provides training videos on over 200 software applications, including Adobe products. Use your Ferris login to access the system.
