The iConnect software is an automated program. While the software is running it will open and close a series of windows; this is normal and should not be interrupted. It installs many of the components needed to connect to the Ferris network and also uninstalls software that may cause conflicts with our network. Note that one of four antivirus/security software needs to be on your computer to attach to the network -- if the iConnect installer finds a different one, it will uninstall the unsupported one, and install.

The following instructions are for Windows Users only.

Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Vista, and Windows 7

  1. Click on the Download button at the left bottom of this page, and save the file to the root of C: drive.
  2. Right-click on the "iConnect.exe" file and select "Run as Administrator".  Firefox and Chrome users will need to double-click the file in the download manager once it has finished downloading.
  3. You may be asked for approval to run the launcher, click "Yes".
  4. The Application Install Page displays. Click "Install".
  5. The iConnect Application Main Menu displays.
  6. Click "Automatic Installation".
  7. The Automatic Installation Menu displays.
  8. Click "Start".  During the process you may be asked to uninstall your old virus protection software. Follow the prompts to do so and allow the iConnect program to continue. PLEASE DO NOT RUN ANY OTHER PROGRAMS, OR SHUT DOWN YOUR COMPUTER WHILE THE SOFTWARE IS INSTALLING. And please be patient, it may take a while, depending on your computer speed and other factors.
  9. Restart your computer when prompted.

Once completed your system will be ready to connect to the Ferris Network Security. When connected you will be prompted to install our Network Access Control solution, known as Bradford. Bradford runs a series of checks to determine if your system meets the University requirements for access.
