What is included in Office 365?

Office 365 is an online suite of business services that will offer Ferris faculty and staff a wide variety of benefits.  Some of the services that will be available to you after your department is moved from Lotus Notes to Office 365 include:

  • Local and cloud-based email, calendar and contacts (Up to 50 Gig of Storage Space)

  • Web conferencing

  • File storage (SkyDrive Pro - up to 25 Gig of storage per person out in the cloud)

  • Office web apps (Web-based viewing and editing of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote)

  • Office Mobile for iPhone and Android phones

  • Instant messaging, voice and video chat

Once we migrate to Office 365 this spring semester, you will no longer need to attach documents to emails and waste time consolidating responses from others on the contents of the document. SkyDrive Pro is a service available in Office 365. It allows you to collaborate more efficiently with others. SkyDrive Pro allows you to place files online and share them with others who have a need to view or modify the documents.

Want to learn more about SkyDrive Pro and how to use it in the Ferris environment? Details on the training options will be advertised through University Wide Notices in the near future.

If you already upgraded your Office 2010 to Office 2013, you will notice options to set up and use "SkyDrive" now.  We would prefer you wait for the official set up of the SkyDrive accounts this spring semester.
