Microsoft Outlook setup on Apple (iPhone, iPad) devices

Automated Setup

  1. Open Safari web browser on your device.
  2. Enter the following URL: http://techsupport.ferris.edu.
  3. Select the link labeled "Tap here to view configuration profiles."
  4. Select "Public Profiles."
  5. Select "Office 365 Configuration."
  6. Select "Install" in the upper right-hand corner.
  7. Another window will open to install the configuration. Select "Install."
  8. You will receive a prompt that it is an unsigned profile. Select "Install Now." If prompted, enter a 4 character passcode.
  9. Enter your email address (e.g. MyFSUid@ferris.edu) and select "Next."
  10. Enter your email address again (e.g. MyFSUid@ferris.edu) to verify and select "Next."
  11. Enter your MyFSU password and select "Next."
  12. After installation is complete, you can select "Done."
  13. Your email, calendar, and contacts are now ready to use.

Manual Setup

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."
  3. Select Add Account.
  4. Select Microsoft Exchange.
  5. Enter your email address in the first box (e.g. MyFSUid@ferris.edu).
  6. Enter your MyFSU password in the second box.
  7. Enter a description for this account in the third box (e.g. Ferris).
  8. Select "Next."
  9. Enter server: Outlook.office365.com
  10. Domain: Is optional, you do not need to enter anything here.
  11. You will be asked to enter your username and enter the same as you did for step 5, your MyFSUid@ferris.edu.
  12. Choose the type of information you want to synchronize and select "Save."

Application Setup

  1. Open the App Store icon on your device.
  2. Search for "OWA" in the App Store.
  3. Download "OWA for iPad" or "OWA for iPhone" with your Apple ID.
  4. Once the app has downloaded, touch the "OWA" icon to open the app.
  5. Enter your MyFSUid@ferris.edu address and MyFSU password to sign-in.
  6. Once you have authenticated, you will be able to access and interact with your email, calendar, and contacts through the application.

Lync 2013 Application Setup

  1. Open the App Store icon on your device.
  2. Search for "Lync 2013" in the App Store.
  3. Download "Lync 2013 for iPad" or "Lync for iPhone" with your Apple ID.
  4. Once the app has downloaded, tap the "Lync 2013" icon to open the app.
  5. Enter your MyFSUid@ferris.edu address and MyFSU password to sign in.
  6. Once you have authenticated, you will be able to chat, video conference, and perform other Lync functions.

Setting up your signature


Setting up your signature in Microsoft Outlook on your computer does not set it up on your mobile device. You will have to do this separately. 

  1. Go to Settings. 
  2. Then find Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Scroll down until you get to Signature and enter in what you would like for your signature.
