There are many Information Technology Services that are available to students.

This guide provides an overview of the services available, as well as how to access them.

ACCOUNT INFORMATION

Initial ID Lookup- Look up your initial ID and password so you can access Ferris resources, such as MyFSU.

GETTING HELP

TAC

The Technology Assistance Center (TAC) is the first point of contact for the rapid resolution to technological issues on campus. 

Contact the TAC: TAC is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via phone. They can be reached by chat, e-mail, or remote assistance during the business day.

STS

Student Technology Services (STS) provides any services to students including PC repair service, free and low cost software, discounts on computers, wireless access, and more.

REPAIR SERVICES

Student Technology Service maintains, trouble-shoots, and repairs student-owned computers. We currently offer a range of services to help keep your computer in good working order.

  • Installing operating systems (computer rebuild)
  • Software Installation
  • Spyware Removal
  • Virus/Trojan Removal
  • RAM (memory) Upgrade
  • Hardware Replacement
  • Operating System Upgrade

 

The fees for the above services will be charged to your student account, so you do not need to bring any form of payment with you; just your Student ID. For pricing information, please contact STS at (231)-591-2556.

STS is an authorized Dell warranty service center. Any hardware issues with Dell equipment under warranty can be handled by STS at no charge. Software and operating systems are not covered under Dell warranty.

Maintenance

Maintenance on major IT Systems is scheduled every other Thursday of every month from 10 PM - 6 AM.

Antivirus 

Ferris has several approved antivirus programs for both PC and Mac computers.
