My name is Melanie Hart. I was a multi-subject tutor at the Academic Support Center from 1992-1996. I majored in Applied Biology at Ferris State University and then attended Rush University in Chicago for a Ph.D. in Immunology. I have been doing research in the field of immunology since graduating from Rush University in 2002. I worked at Harvard University and am now working at the University of Tuebingen in Germany. At the end of my Ph.D. studies I met my German husband, Bernd. We lived in Boston and then moved to Germany in 2005. We had a little girl on July 4, 2008. Her name is Sofie. We are quite happy living in Germany. I love European life and the 6 weeks vacation time!! As of now, it looks like my family and I might be staying in Germany for a long time.
