Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Scholarships
Below are scholarships available to students enrolled in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Program at Ferris State University.

American Subcontractors Association of Michigan Annual Scholarship
Scholarship amount $1,500
·          Full-time sophomore, junior or senior student
·          Must be enrolled in either the Construction or HVACR programs
·          Minimum GPA 2.0 or higher
·          Financial need is not considered
·          Additional Requirements: Must have demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm, 
           
leadership, volunteerism and involvement in their respective program and express
           a desire for a career in the subcontracting industry.
·          Preference given to students who have demonstrated involvement with the
           American Subcontractors Association of Michigan (via: event attendance
           or internships)
·          Preference given to those students who reside in the association's membership
           geographical area.
 
 
ASHRAE (West Michigan) Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          Must be a member of the student chapter of ASHRAE
·          Attain the highest GPA after the first semester of their junior year
·          The recipient will be selected by the HVACR Program
 
 
Builders Exchange of Grand Rapids & Western Michigan Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          Full-time undergraduate student majoring in Construction or HVACR programs
·          Minimum GPA 3.0
·          Financial need is NOT considered
 
 
HARDI Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          This scholarship is based on merit and financial need as determined by financial-aid
·          The recipient is selected by the HVACR program and CET
   
 
Hedrick Associates Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·         Full time student majoring in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration
·         Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher
·         Financial need is considered* 
·         Preference given to freshmen for recruitment purposes
 
 
HVACR Endowed Tool Scholarship 
Scholarship amount varies annually
·         Awards are based on scholastic achievement
·         Minimum GPA of 2.0
·         Financial need is not considered
·         Recipients are selected by the HVACR program
 
 
J.N. Nelson Family Foundation Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          Must be a full-time student, a junior or senior
·          Enrolled in the HVACR program
 
 
Kamstra Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·         Must be a full-time student majoring in the HVACR program
·         Must be a sophomore, junior or senior
·         Financial need is NOT considered*
·         Have a hight scholastic achievement
·         Preference given to students whose primary residents is Western Michigan
 
 
Karl E. Huffman Family Scholarship Endowment
Scholarship amount varies annually
·         Must be a full-time student majoring in the HVACR program
·         Preference given to freshman for recruiting purposes
·         Minimum 2.5 GPA
·         Financial need is considered*
 
 
Michigan Air Conditioning Contractors Association of America Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·         Full-time student majoring in the HVACR program and must have
          completed at least one semester
·         Minimum GPA of 3.0 
·         Financial need is considered*
·         Must be a member of the student chapter of Air Conditioning Contractors of America
·         Preference given to students who aspire to enter the HVACR workforce
 
 
Quality Air Annual Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          Full-time sophomore majoring in the HVACR program
·          Minimum GPA is 3.2
·          Financial need is NOT considered
·          Preference given to Michigan residence of the following counties: Berrien, Cass,
           St Joseph, Branch, Hillsdale, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Jackson,
           Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Muskegon,
           Montcalm, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Mason, Lake, Osceola, Gratiot,
           Livingston, Shiawassee
·          Must submit two (2) letters of recommendation
  
 
Richard L. Shaw / Fredrick McKinley Jones Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·         Must be a full-time undergraduate student majoring in HVACR program
·         Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
·         Financial need is considered as determined by Financial Aid
·         Consideration given to students that are under-represented
 
 
Ryan Matthew Clark Annual Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          Must be a full-time sophomore majoring in the HVACR program
·          Minimum GPA is 2.0 or higher
·          Financial need is NOT considered
·          Must submit a personal resume with a maximum one page written
           statement to include career goals, extracurricular activities, and why you should
           be considered for this scholarship and anything else deemed pertinent
 
 
West Michigan Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association Scholarship (MERCER)
Scholarship amount varies annually
·          Must be a junior or senior majoring in the HVACR program
·          Must be a member of the MCAA and/or MSCA
·          Must submit an up-to-date resume that includes education, work experience
           and extra curricular activies

of America Scholarship - Lloyd C. Zill Scholarship

- Awards based on scholastic achievement

West Michigan Mechanical Contractors Association Scholarship

Great Lakes Scholarship 2013-2014  
Is for non-resident students who are residents of the following states or province:California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, North Dakota, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Ontario, Canada, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
 
The Great Lakes Scholarship allows eligible out-of-state students to pay lower in-state tuition. The average value of the Great Lakes Scholarship for 2012-2013 is $5370 (based on 30 credit hours per year). You must meet the qualifications below to be considered for this scholarship: You must be a resident of one of the states or province listed above.  Residents of Ontario, Canada are the only International students eligible for the Great Lakes Scholarship. You must enroll in an undergraduate, degree-granting program at Ferris State University — Big Rapids main campus. Eligible students will be automatically awarded this scholarship. No application necessary.

 

Stanley J. Dean Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must be a full-time junior level (56-85 credit hours earned)
- Student with a cumulative 3.00 GPA or better
- Financial need is considered*
- Demonstrate leadership abilities and potential to make a significant contribution to their 
  chosen profession.

Veteran's / Military Scholarship
Must have served on an active duty status in U.S. Armed Forces, including Army Reserve or National Guard when "Federally" activated, for a minimum of six continuous months for purposes other than training. Veteran must receive a separation from active duty under "honorable" or "uncharacterized" conditions. Period of qualifying service will be verified via a certified copy of the veteran's DD-214 form (member 4). Must be enrolled at Ferris State University in an undergraduate/graduate/ professional program of study within six years from separation of qualifying military service. Must maintain full-time academic enrollment status. Maintain satisfactory academic progress per federal financial aid regulations and the policy of the Financial Aid Office. Must submit a current year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and complete all requested requirements in order to receive a FSU Financial Aid Award Notice. In addition, a FAFSA must be submitted for each renewal year. Demonstrated financial need is NOT required for eligibility. If you have any questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office. Robert Fordeck Memorial Scholarship
Students need a sealed transcript from the accredited university you are attending, an essay on where the industry is going in the next five years and how you, with a completed degree will help make this vision come true. One letter one recommendation from each of the following sources will be required: your university advisor, a refrigeration industry veteran of 10+ years' experience, and a personal reference of your choice. Students must also have a 2.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale and proof of current enrollment in classes at the university.
