Automotive Program Scholarships

Below are scholarships available to students enrolled in the Automotive Programs at Ferris State University. Please apply for all that you qualify for.

Advantage Technical Resourcing Group Annual Scholarship 
One (1) $1,000 scholarship  
Divided equally between fall and spring semester 

  • Full-time junior or senior enrolled in any automotive program
  • Minimum GPA is 3.00
  • Financial need is considered*
  • Additional Requirements: Must be a US Citizen; student involvement is considered and applicable work experience preferred
  • Must submit completed application above


General Motors Customer Care and Aftersales Automotive Scholarship
Two $2,000 annual scholarships

  • Full-time sophomore, junior or senior student enrolled in either the Automotive Management or Automotive Engineering Technology programs
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25
  • US Citizen
  • A minimum of one ASE certification (preferred)
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills and have an enthusiasm to learn and a passion for the automotive business
  • Must submit completed application above 


Grand Rapids New Car Dealers Association Annual Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually

  • Full-time undergraduate majoring in the Automotive Program
  • Minimum GPA is 2.5
  • Financial need is not considered
  • Additional Requirements: Preference given to students living in Kent, Allegan or Ottawa Counties.

Sherman Throop Memorial Toyota Scholarship
One (1) $3,000 scholarship given
Divided equally between fall and spring semester

  • Full-time junior enrolled in the Automotive Management Program
  • GPA is not considered
  • Financial need is not considered
  • To read a short biographical sketch of Sherman Throop, (recipient must have a sincere passion for life) (click here)
  • Additional Requirements: Must be a US citizen or permanent US resident

Thomas W. Sobota Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship amount varies annually
Divided equally between fall and spring semester

  • Full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Automotive Service Technology 
  • Minimum GPA is 2.0 
  • Financial need is considered* 
  • Must submit completed application above 
       

Toyota Scholars Program 
Two (2) $3,000 scholarships given 
Divided equally between fall and spring semester 

  • Full-time junior enrolled in the Automotive Management or Automotive Engineering Technology Programs
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Financial need is not considered
  • Additional Requirements: Must be a US citizen or permanent US resident
  • Preference given to minorities
  • Must submit completed application above
