Over the past 5-7 years there has been a rebirth of large diameter GP lens use for managing medical and surgical complications, ocular surface disease and even normal refractive errors.
Yet, there are challenges to implementing scleral lenses in one's practice. Who are the best patient's? What measurements are needed? How do I design a lens? Are these lenses really that comfortable? What are the proper billing and coding procedures?
The answers to these questions and more will be provided in an interactive environment combining lectures, interactive polling and hands-on clinical workshops where you'll be able to familiarize yourself with scleral lenses by participating in numerous patient fitting interactions. Registration is limited to enhance instructor-attendee interaction.
This course is being held as a response to the common question heard from eyecare professionals: "Where do I send a staff member who is new to the optician role to learn the fundamentals necessary to provide quality care to my patients?"
This course is intended for Optometry or Ophthalmology personnel who are performing optician tasks and are new to the position. Limit of 20 attendees to ensure maximum interaction with our expert instructors.
