24 years of Law Enforcement experience. I started my career as a Community College
Public Safety Officer. I next spent over 19 years with the Grand Rapids, MI Police
Department. While at GRPD, I held positions as patrol office/police paramedic; Major
Case Team Investigator; Police Sergeant, serving in the following assignments: Internal
Affairs, Patrol, Field Training Officer supervisor, and Traffic Unit; and Police Lieutenant
serving as a Patrol Unit Watch Commander and a Service Area Administrative Lieutenant.
I next spent 4 years with the Kissimmee, Florida Police Department as a Deputy Police
Chief responsible for Recruitment and Training, Communications, Professional Standards,
including Internal Affairs and Accreditation, Records, and Financial Service.
Advanced Training:
Federal Bureau of Investigation Florida Executive Development Seminar; Chief Executive
Officer, Seminar, sponsored by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children;
ICS 100-800, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Management Institute;
