HONORARY DOCTORATE OF SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
Charles R. Trimble is one of three founders of Trimble Navigation Ltd. and an innovator of many of the industry's important technological advances. He has shared his knowledge, gained through engineering baccalaureate and master's degrees and industry experience, and contributed to the advancement of his field as a lecturer for Stanford University and author of numerous publications.
His genuine interest in the education of young people moved him to become a member of Ferris' Phoenix Society by generously supporting Ferris' surveying program with continually-updated equipment, which has made it possible for Ferris to become a national center of excellence in surveying engineering.
Therefore, the Board of Control of Ferris State University offers its sincere gratitude and takes great pride in conferring upon Charles R. Trimble the honorary degree of Doctor of Science and Engineering, with all the rights and privileges there unto appertaining.
