The FSU Athletic Pep Band performs for home games of the Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Hockey games. Travel to away play-off games is a possibility. Band members conduct themselves in a spirited manner that promotes the goals of Education, Ambassadorship and Community at all rehearsals, performances, and band social events. The Athletic Pep Band is not an academic class but, its members can qualify for an Ability Based Scholarship.
The Athletic Pep Band staff and individual band members promote educational opportunities at rehearsals and performances and strive for and encourage academic excellence.

Ferris State University Athletic Pep Band members strive to exhibit the highest levels of musicianship and school spirit. Band members represent Ferris State University, the FSU College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Humanities, the Music for Life philosophy of Music Program, themselves, and the community of Big Rapids, Michigan. Band members promote and observe the sportsmanship vision as set forth by the FSU Bulldog Athletic Department and GLIAC and NCAA regulations.
The Ferris State University Athletic Pep band promotes group unity during rehearsals, performances, and social event and holds a unique connection with its family and alumni band members.
Athletic Pep Band Membership is open to any FSU student and at the sole discretion of the Faculty Director. New members must participate in a playing interview. All band members must complete the 2009-10 Membership Application and Contract. A Provisional Membership is available for upperclassmen wanting to participate when their academic schedule prohibits General Membership.

All band members must own and wear the Athletic Pep Band Pullover or Jacket / T-shirt combination.
More information about the Athletic Pep Band can be found with the Membership Requirements and Application and Contract. All Pep Band members must understand the Membership Requirements and complete the Application and Contract.
