Dr. Symmes' graduate education was a hybrid of formal training and practical experience in both the Spanish department and the School of Education. A former police officer and interpretative linguist for the Department of Defense, as well as a trained emergency medical technician, Symmes brings a wealth of world experience to the Spanish classroom.
