The Social Work Program participates in a variety of activities on campus, especially those that advocate for oppressed populations.
Take Back the Night Rally - This is an organized event traditionally sponsored by WISE, Inc. to raise awareness of domestic violence and sexual abuse. The Mecosta County rally that is held on campus is the largest one of the surrounding areas.
Day of Silence - This event is sponsored by the LGBT population on campus. Participants spend the day not speaking at all, raising awareness for the silence the alternative lifestyles have to endure.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Numerous Martin Luther King, Jr. Day activities occur every year. The activities usually last for the whole week of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and vary in thought-provoking presentations, raising awareness for minority groups.

Baccalaureate Social Work Education Program Directors, Inc. (BPD)
This is an association of BSW Program Administrators, Faculty, Field Directors, and others dedicated to the promotion of excellence in baccalaureate social work education. The annual conference is an excellent opportunity for student presentations in front of faculty.
