I have been teaching at Ferris since August of 1990. My undergraduate degree in Television Production is from UNC-Chapel Hill and my Masters & Doctorate Degrees in American History are from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers I had the pleasure to study under two noted African American scholars, David Levering Lewis and Deborah Gray White. During my time here at Ferris I have been actively involved in teaching and developing courses addressing the African American experience. My teaching interests compliment my scholarly activities of the last decade. My research has focused on African American visual artists of the 1920s and 1930s. At present I am writing a book on Harlem-based artists of this period.
