Frank Hartley has been with Ferris State University for 34 years. Before taking the position of Laboratory Technologist for the Biology Department he previously served as the Biology Department Supply Clerk and as the Laboratory Supply Manager for the College of Optometry. He presently serves on the FSU Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and, in the past, has served on the CAS Dean’s Advisory Committee, the Applied Biology Program Review Committee, the Biotechnology Program Review Committee, the Campus Chemical Safety Committee, and on a number of faculty/staff search committees. In 1999 he was awarded the FSU Distinguished Staff Award and in 2007 he completed the FSU Employee Leadership Development Program.

Frank is active in the Big Rapids community, having served in the past as chair of the community theater group STAGE-M, as a trustee of the Big Rapids Public School Board, and as Junior Warden of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. He is currently a member of the Spiritual Life Commission of the United Church.

Frank’s personal interests include theater, home remodeling, writing, and listening to “Golden Oldies”.
