To request a transcript on-line:
Current students can login to the Ferris State University website, click on MyFSU and enter their User Name and Password. Click on the My Academics tab and then the Transcripts and Enrollment Verification link. This will open the National Student Clearinghouse where you can enter your online request for transcripts from Ferris State University. Former students or Current International Students can also connect to the National Student Clearinghouse directly and request transcripts from Ferris State University. Using this method will require you to sign a release form and fax it to the Clearinghouse each time transcripts are ordered or the order will not be processed. For some transcript requests you may be able to sign your name electronically with your computer mouse.

To request a transcript via mail:
Current and former students may click Transcript Request (Printable LINK), which will also print the Transcript Procedure along with it. Our address is at the top of the form. To request a transcript in person: If you are in Big Rapids, you may come in to Timme Center for Student Services on the first floor to complete a transcript request form.

Transcripts are $5.00 per copy. Online transcript ordering through the National Student Clearinghouse carries an additional per order processing charge of $2.25 but gives you the option of paying by credit card. Transcripts requested by using the Registrar’s Office ordering form are $5.00 per transcript. Payment can be made by cash, money order or check payable to Ferris State University. Immediate service transcripts have a service charge of $5.00 and are processed the same working day if the request is received before noon. For example, if you were to order 3 transcripts on one request, you would be charged $15 for the transcripts plus the additional flat fee of $5 to have immediate service, for a total of $20 to send the three transcripts immediate service. All transcript fees (and any express shipping fees) must be paid for at the time of request. We will not mail transcripts and then bill you nor can transcript fees be charged to your account.

Transcripts are sent first class U.S. mail. We normally put transcripts in the mail within two business days of receiving your request. Immediate service requests are processed the same day as long as the request is received prior to noon.

Express Processing: Ferris State University provides two types of express shipping. We use Federal Express next day service for a charge of $35.00 per address. This cost includes the mailing service fee, an official transcript and immediate same day service. Federal Express does not deliver to PO boxes. The second type of express shipping is Postal Express for a charge of $25.00 per address and it takes one to two days to arrive at the destination.

Ferris State University does not fax transcripts OR send them electronically. Transcripts may be released only when all financial obligations to Ferris State University have been met. No business is conducted on days when Ferris is closed - weekends, holidays and the time between Christmas and New Year's. Please plan accordingly.

The Registrar’s Office does not process unofficial transcripts requests. If you are current student you can obtain them through your MyFSU account. If you are a student that has attended since the 1990’s you can contact the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and they can set you up with a MyFSU account in order to obtain your unofficial transcripts. If you are a former student near one of our off site locations, we can have an unofficial transcript faxed to that office to be picked up by you.

If you ordered your transcript online, you will receive email update on the progress of your transcript request. You should obtain confirmation of when we have received the request and when we have completed your request. You will also receive any notices of delay in processes your request, for example if you have a hold on your transcript and we are unable to process the request. If you have ordered your transcript through our printable form, you are welcome to contact our office directly to check on the status of your request. Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

We do all of our enrollment and graduation verifications through the National Student Clearinghouse.

You may drop a class if you have completed 10% or less of the course. For a typical full term course, the last day to drop is the 4th day of the semester. For specific dates please refer to the campus calendar.

You may withdraw from a class if you have completed 63% or less of the course. For specific dates please refer to the campus calendar.

If you are a current student you can view your assigned registration dates in MyFSU in the Academics and Services Tab, Registration Channel, Registration Status/Advisor Information link. Please ensure you choose the correct term for which you are trying to determine your registration date. This link will also show you any issues that may prevent the ability to register, for example, advising holds.
If you are a future student, your registration will typically take place one of two ways. First, if you are attending an on-campus Orientation, you will register for your classes as part of that Orientation. If you complete an online Orientation, you will typically schedule a meeting with an Educational Counselor or Advisor from your college. It is at that meeting where you will register for your classes.

Simply completing your final class or requirement for your degree does not mean it is instantaneously awarded. Please understand that it takes time to audit each and every student who is graduating and process them accordingly. Typically your degree will appear on your transcript within one month of graduation, and you should receive your diploma within 6 – 8 weeks. If you have a special situation where you need your degree posted sooner than this or you have not received your diploma in the mail, please contact your Dean’s Office.
