This scholarship is available to incoming freshmen in all majors with a minimum 3.00 high school GPA, that are also Michigan residents. *Preference given to minority students. A letter of recommendation from someone other than a relative must be submitted with application. An essay is also required - see application for details.

Students wishing to be considered for this scholarship must be enrolled as full-time students in Child Development and have demonstrated leadership and potential to be an outstanding teacher of young children. Candidates for the scholarships shall have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and have been enrolled in the Child Development program for two (2) consecutive semesters.

Students who are enrolled in the Masters' programs in Career and Technical Education (CTE) and the Doctorate in Community College Leadership (DCCL) may apply for this scholarship. The recipient will be chosen based on their financial need as determined by the completion of the FAFSA. Students will need to write an essay explaining how he or she expects to contribute to advancing excellence in education.
The award amount will cover the cost of 12 credit hours over the course of one year at the current tuition rate for the appropriate program.

Applicants for this scholarship must be enrolled full-time in the Teacher Education Program majoring in History Education. Applicant must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. Preference to those who can demonstrate a free-spirited, positive approach toward life and living, an appreciation for nature and natural environments, with emphasis on outdoor and nautical activities and a strong passion for world travel and adventure.
