Financial Aid
Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (Teach) Grant

The TEACH Grant program provides up to $4000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private school that serves students from low-income families. In exchange for receiving a TEACH Grant, you must agree to serve as a full-time teacher in a high-need field, in a school that serves low-income students. As a recipient, you much teach for at least four academic years after completing the program of study for which you received a TEACH Grant.

IMPORTANT: If you fail to complete this service obligation, all amounts of TEACH grants that you received will be converted to a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. You must then repay this loan to the US Department of Education. You will be charged interest from the date the grant was disbursed.

Federally designated high-need fields:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Special Education
  • Reading Specialist

The TEACH Grant program is subject to the across-the-board budget cuts under the sequester law. The Department of Education has recommended that schools not disburse TEACH Grants for 13-14, until further guidance regarding required reductions is provided. We will begin offering TEACH Grants as soon as we are able.
