Director of Budgetary Planning and Analysis
Sally DePew is the person behind the scenes who plans, develops, coordinates, and allocates the University's operating budgets. In addition, she is responsible for formulating budget policies and procedures. She works under the supervision of the University President.
Sally serves an advisory role to the President on State budget matters, collective bargaining, and University-wide fiscal issues. In conjunction with the University Planning Office, Sally administers the annual University planning and budgeting process. In conjunction with the Finance Office, Sally monitors Ferris' fiscal performance including maintaining a set of Indicators of Health and Success.
DePew's analysis and recommendations are essential to the University's annual state budget request and annual operating budget, including the setting of tuition and fees. She chairs the University Student Fees Committee, and is a member of the President's Cabinet. She serves as a liaison with the State of Michigan Department of Management and Budget relative to the University's annual operating budget request and State-mandated (HEIDI) reporting as well as selected Federal reporting requirements.
Sally received her bachelor's degree in business teacher education from Ferris State University and has completed master's coursework from Central Michigan University as well as numerous professional financial and management institutes focusing on higher education fiscal planning. Sally came to Ferris in 1975 from a business teaching position at St. Johns High School in Michigan.
