Pat on the Back Awards November 2008

Congratulations to —

Dr. Don Roy deserves a big pat on the back for his project to hang the "Political Engagement Talk Back" poster on the wall on the first floor of Starr Building. It has become a center for students to post their comments on politically engaging questions and it consistently sparks an on-going conversation about today's political events. He changes the topic every week and monitors the board during the week. I teach just outside the part of the hallway that hosts the board and you would not believe how many students make it a regular part of their day to stop, read, post, and discuss the important topics there. Dr. Roy has been at this project for years and certainly deserves more than a pat of the back for his important efforts.

I would like to nominate Cheryl Kondziola and Nina Davis for the Pat on the Back award. Both of them did outstanding work this year in their fiscal year clean up for their Colleges. They take pride in doing their jobs and they do it with great attitudes. They help make our jobs easier in the Finance area. Thanks again Ladies!

I'd like to nominate Shana Beisiegel and the international students for hosting the Ten Thousand Villages in Rankin Center. What a wonderful way to expose all of us on campus to international arts and crafts. I look forward to the next event.

I would like to nominate Lynn Bowen for a Pat on the Back. Lynn is the nicest coworker. She was very inspirational and supportive with the Homecoming decorating contest. She took the idea and helped turn our Communication Center into a western town. She also does a wonderful job with students, coworkers and everyone she deals with. She is a bright spot in our department.

To Amy Otteson for her extraordinary help with Academic Program Review surveys, data, and charts. She is always willing to go the extra mile. Without her help, the process would take extra amounts of time and effort. She takes on the burden willingly and very effectively. Bravo!

I would like to nominate Linda Kuk for a pat on the back award. Linda has lots of students to advise and she is always willing to meet with them and she always does it with a smile. Even if she has had a very busy day she always treats the students with care and concern with their program and when they need to switch programs. Linda you rock!!!!!!!!!
