Pat on the Back Awards July 2005

Congratulations to —

Bruce Werner, technical services specialist, Student and Administrative Technology Services. For assisting with some MY FSU hurdles that occurred during the recent Kronos web implementation. Bruce provided the information required to speed up a process to ensure that there was a minimal waiting period in order to get a group of individuals activated so the process would not incur a longer disruption period. Bruce is to be commended for his help and the assistance that he gave.

Linda Knapp, custodian, Knollcrest Commons. For all her help with the Residential Life Staff and Dining Service summer custodians during the implementation of the new web based Kronos system. Linda took the time to assist these individuals with accessing MY FSU and the Kronos Web timekeeping system. Linda had the patience to assist many individuals who had little computer knowledge and overcame several obstacles in making sure that they could access the systems and have a working familiarity with the new process. Not only has Linda assisted with these processes, but she has assisted in training on the Custodial Order Form Process. Linda is always very supportive and always willing to assist and it is extremely appreciated.

Claudia Johnson, dining services. During Summer University, this trainee took the reins and put out three days of great quality product and didn't stress. I am very proud to have Claudia as a future employee of Ferris and know she has a lot to contribute!

Randy Stephan, custodian, Residential Life. In June he helped with the Janus Custodial Training Program held in Granger. Randy did an excellent job at training and is just a great all-around guy!! He is always willing to help everyone. Thanks.

Bruce Hammond, machine lab technician, Manufacturing Department. We needed a crucial part for one of our hand carts and were unable to get one from the manufacturer. Bruce was kind enough to make us two -- now we even have a spare! It's great to see different areas around Ferris helping each other! I truly appreciate his willingness to help! It is a huge blessing for our office to have these parts now!

Sue Mumby, student representative, Financial Aid. Sue Mumby was caught helping to keep the area outside the Timme Building spic and span! I'm glad she helps to keep Ferris looking tidy. We appreciate her help!

Jim Moore, custodian, Physical Plant. For his willingness to step up and help his fellow co-workers out when they need help. Way to Go, Jim! You rock! Thanks for always being there for us!

Ms. Linda Ferguson, custodian, Science Building. Ms. Ferguson has recently been assigned to work on the third floor of the Science Building. The quality of her work has clearly improved the status of the science third floor: classrooms are clean, floors are an improvement and she maintains a professional, pleasant and helpful demeanor in addressing our requests, and toward faculty, students and fellow co-workers. We are fortunate to have her with us. Your efforts, Linda, have not escaped our notice.

Will Duran and Steve Johnson, science equipment technicians, Instrument Repair. These two gentlemen are highly knowledgable and super competent in fixing and building all types of equipment. When an emergency arises, they will drop things that are not urgent and turn their full attention to fixing the instrument so it can be returned quickly to the classroom. Last April when an emergency occurred, they worked way after closing time and came in over an hour early the next morning to finish the repairs and returned the instrument before it was needed. This is dedication way and beyond the call of duty. It is people like Will and Steve that makes Ferris a GREAT place to work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are greatly appreciated.
