The Marketing Communications staff in University Advancement and Marketing produces recruitment, promotional and advancement materials for the University, along with other alumni, academic and administrative publications aimed at off-campus audiences. Communications professionals can help you plan your publication and provide services, including design, editing, copy writing and review, illustration and photography.

The University Photographer is responsible for photos that publicize and promote the University, as well as faculty, staff and student portraits in connection with academic activities or official University business.

Requests for color or black/white photographs should be made in writing at least 14 working days in advance. All prints, slides and negatives become the property of the University.

You may request the loan of a fully automatic 35mm film camera or point and shoot digital camera for use in photographing University-sanctioned activities not covered by the University photographer. Cameras may be signed out for up to 72 hours, and borrowing offices will be responsible for any damages or loss incurred. Contact the University photographer for more information. There is a $50 per hour charge for weekend and evening assignments.

University Printing provides general printing services to the University, including printing single and multi-color brochures, stationery items, newsletters, newspapers, recruiting posters and other printed matter.

University Printing is part of the educational program in the Graphic Arts department. Ferris graphic arts students are responsible for the management and production of all printed pieces.

The Ferris State University Copy Center provides copy service for classroom materials, memos, newsletters, reports, flyers and small brochures. Other services include color copies, folding, collating, stapling, punching, perforating, inserting envelopes for mailing, business reply envelopes and cards, tabbing, unibinding and transparencies. The Copy Center can print on envelopes, cards, 8 1/2 x 11 to 11 x 17 inch paper and carbonless paper (2-part to 5-part). Fifteen colors of ink are available, as well as more than 140 different colors of paper in various weights and textures.

In addition to its walk-up counter, the Copy Center delivers finished work and picks up new work at 16 locations on campus twice daily. Special delivery of large projects or direct delivery to the mail room also is available. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
