Title: Computer Technician
Joe began his employment with Ferris as a student employee working in the Telecommunication
and COB department in 1996. He was hired in September 1999 as a full-time Computer
Technician and currently is a member of Team Central in FLITE. Joe’s accomplishments
include Smart Classroom technology coordination, deployment of Mac OS X Leopard and
MS Office 2008 on over 100 workstations. He has deployed and updated OSX 10.5 Leonard
servers, coordinated HEAT development request and administration transitions, deployed
a digital asset management server for evaluation and testing in UA&M Photo Services,
upgraded Windows 2003 servers in Graphic Arts pre-press digital work flows, and deployed
video streaming service evaluation and testing. Currently, he hosts over 50 streams
at approximately 1.8GB. Joe currently continues his work with the Athletics department
to implement a video storage and retrieval server solution along with working with
the Ice Arena to identify a point of sale register and facility management solution.
