Q: How will I access Kronos 6.3?

A: Kronos 6.3 runs completely on the web. The new site will be available in the same spot on MyFSU. The software will use your current login credentials to access.

Q: Will this fix the java issues?

A: Kronos 6.3 runs java 7 update 71. On April 8th, Banner will begin using Java 7 update 71. The first time you login to Kronos 6.3, follow the prompts to update your java. If you still have java issues, please access the control panels "programs and features" and uninstall all versions of java. Then log into Kronos 6.3 and follow the prompts to reinstall java.

Q: What are the requirements to run Kronos 6.3?

A: You will need one of the following web browsers: Internet Explorer 8 or 9, Mozilla Firefox, or Google Chrome. Flash player needs to be installed and Java 7 update 71.

Q: If an employee punches in at a different clock can you see what clock they punched on?

A: Yes, you are able to see this information under the audit tab on an employee’s timecard. Use the select all under the type of edit - information will be on the far right.

Q: Is Kronos specific on AM/PM?

A: Yes. Kronos has a default that is set for AM. When correcting a missed punch or Purple Punch be sure to designate AM or PM.

Q: Is the Purple Punch process the same?

A: Yes, the Purple Punch process is the same. Add a line and input the correct information.

Q: Do you enter a comment if you enter a missed punch?

A: Yes, anytime a Manager enters a punch please note it. There are some comments already available in Kronos, but if you would like something more specific please contact the Payroll Office.

Q: If an employee takes a ½ day off, why does Kronos not automatically account for the ½ hour lunch?

A: If the Employee has a schedule in Kronos it will account for the lunch period, otherwise the Manager will need to adjust by hand.

Q: Students that work in different Departments and one Department approves their time what do you do?

A: If no changes are needed approve it again. If changes are needed, contact the approving Department and ask them to unapprove the student. If you are unable to reach the department, contact the Payroll Department.

Q: Will I be able to view my leave balances on the time clock?

A: Yes, you will have the ability to view punches, time card, accrual balances, and schedule (if used by supervisor).
