- Step 1. Notice of Intent to Apply for a Grant (PDF)
The purpose of this document is to inform the Office for Academic Research (OAR) of
the Principal Investigator's (PI) and college's intent to apply for a grant. This
does not obligate the PI to apply for the grant. This form need to be submitted to
the OAR (CSS 310 or grants@ferris.edu) at least 30 days prior to the grant due date in order to guarantee the grant being submitted if there is
a limited institutional submission (some grants only allow an institution one application).
- Step 2. Approval to Submit a Grant Proposal (PDF)
This form is to be filled out with appropriate signatures when the grant is ready
to be submitted. The STEP 2 form (Approval to Submit a Grant Proposal) must be filled
out and submitted to the Office for Academic Research (OAR) at least 7 days (5 business days) prior to the submission due date in order to guarantee submission. OAR will then
get the approvals from the General Counsel (if over $250,000), the vice president
for the Division, and the vice president for Administration and Finance then submit
the grant for you.
- Step 3. Approval to Accept a Grant (Notice of Award) (PDF)
Congratulations! The grant proposal has been awarded! Please contact the Investments
and Grants Office at x2156 to coordinate the grant accounting structure with your
account clerk; then, fill out the STEP 3 form (Approval to Accept a Grant) with the appropriate signatures from your college and
submit it to the Office for Academic Research (CSS 310 or grants@ferris.edu) where
they will get the remaining signatures.
- Proposal Approval Form for CLINICAL GRANTS ONLY (PDF)

Ferris facilities, faculty, students, or equipment.
