Pat Taylor has primarily worked in higher education for most of her career. She has been working at Washtenaw Community College for the past 12 years as the Dean of Support Services and served as the Achieving the Dream core team leader.  She worked over 22 years in community colleges in various Student Services’ leadership and administrative positions , including developing a Title III Successful Life Skills program for Mid Michigan Community College (MMCC) for at-risk students and coauthoring a Facilitators’ Guide for the State of MI’s Department of Education and MMCC.

Additionally at universities, she held full time student affairs administrative positions for six years and has taught part-time for universities and community colleges. In other education related positions, she worked as a counselor in Adult Education and contracted with Mt. Pleasant Schools to design and teach a Job Club that served 1000 students over a 5 year period.  She is passionate and interested in research on how colleges, and particularly community colleges can help at-risk students be successful.
