Jimmie C. Rodgers is a native of Hillsdale County, Michigan. He attended Western Michigan University where he received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, and an M.A. in Instructional Technology. He spent 15 years in the Marcellus Community Schools as a middle school teacher for seven years and as middle school principal for eight years. He also served as the Director of Education at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan and as the educational marketing consultant for an IBM dealership in Muskegon. Most recently, Jimmie spent eight years in the Ferris State University Human Resources Department as the Manager of Education and Training. In 1999, he assumed the responsibilities as the Director of Charter Schools for the University. With his retirement in June 2006, Jimmie accepted the part-time position as Special Assistant to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, assigned to the Charter Schools Office.
Duties and Responsibilities: Primary focus will be CSO Special Development Projects that benefit the CSO, and the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, which the CSO is a part of. Special Projects include but are not limited to: New Development of Charters including Strict Discipline Academies, University school, Urban High Schools, and new PSA's; Scholarship Program Development for Ferris PSA Graduates, Recruitment; and Dissolution. Other Special Projects may also be assigned by the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs
