Introduction to WIKIs
A wiki is an online collaborative writing project whereby users can contribute to
the development of a single Web site from anywhere and at anytime (all that is needed
is access to the Web). Users may contribute to the content, layout, discussion, etc.
of the collaborative project. Wikis do not require a lot of technical skill or special
software. Wikis can be used in education as a tool for distributing course information,
a place for students to collaborate in groups, and in other innovative ways.
