This faculty learning community is part of the University goals to become a demonstrable center of excellence in educational quality and student learning(Strategic Goal 1). The learning community is one means to support the emphasis on quality performance by faculty, staff, and administration that demonstrably improves student learning (Strategic Initiative 4, Goal 1).

Your experience in this faculty learning community will be built around the Quality Matters Rubric, "a set of 8 general standards used to evaluate the design of online and blended courses. Unique to the Quality Matters Rubric is the concept of alignment. This occurs when critical course components - Learning Objectives, Assessment and Measurement, Instructional Materials, Learner Interaction and Engagement, and Course Technology - work together to ensure students achieve desired learning outcomes."

All faculty -- tenure-track and non-tenure track alike -- are invited to participate.

We will meet on Wednesdays from 3 to 5 PM. The specific dates are: February 8, 15, 22, and 29, March 28, and April 4 and 11. Upon successful completion of the work associated with the learning community, you will receive a Professional Development Incentive of $400.
