Over dinner, we will discuss readings that explore issues related to diversity in the college classroom such as inclusion, culturally-responsive teaching, and other sociocultural phenomena that bear on Ferris students' experience and learning. We'll draw upon the opinion, experiences, and research of others in books and other resources such as:
The conversations will be casual and the dinners will sooth both the palette and the soul.
Meeting dates and times: The discussion group will meet for three weeks on Tuesdays beginning April 8th from 4:30 to 6 PM. The first meeting, at least, will be in IRC 104. Dinner will be provided and participants will receive a copy of one of the books.
