Important WebCT Information
for Winter 2006
 

Faculty will need to request a new course space for each section they plan to use with WebCT this semester - Winter 06. There is a course request form available for this purpose at the following URL:  http://www.ferris.edu/webct/course_request.html .  Please fill out the form completely with course ID, section and your email address.  Please indicate in the 'Comments' section of the form whether you wish to have multiple sections cross-listed so they appear as one.

 

The new server is now available and can be accessed using the regular WebCT URL: http://webct.ferris.edu/ or by following the links for WebCT from the Ferris Homepage, or myFSU Portal.

 

Faculty and Students will continue to access the new WebCT server by using their Novell ID and Password. 

Be advised - your old courses will no longer be listed when you log into the WebCT server. Only those
course spaces you requested for Winter 06 courses will be displayed. Beginning this semester new course sections
will be created each term. Courses from former terms will continue to be available to faculty on the Development
Server, located at the following URL: http://webcttest.ferris.edu/

In order to use a former course as the template for a new course, designers must upload and restore a course backup of the former course to the new server. As with the previous installation, students will see their courses listed only after the instructor makes the course available by importing the student list.
