To access your WebCT courses from a former semester, log into the development server at: http://webcttest.ferris.edu
Click on the title of the course you wish to use as a template.
Follow the menus: Control Panel - Manage Course - Backup Course - Create Backup
Note: You are permitted up to two course backup files on the development server. If you already have two existing files and need to create another current backup file, you may find it necessary to download a previous backup file and then to delete it from the course, before continuing with this process.
Once the file has been created you may download it to your workstation. It is recommended you use a campus workstation for this process for very large backup files.
To access the new course you wish to modify, log into the production (new) server at: http://webct.ferris.edu/
Click on the title of the course you wish to modify using the template.
Follow the menus: Control Panel - Manage Course - Backup Course - Upload Backup.
The simulation displays the use of the "reset course" option which removes student information from the backup course as well as the new course space. Optionally, you may restore the course using the "keep users" option if you have already imported students to the new course.
To import the student list you will need the
call number for the course section.

Simulation
The
"Registered Course Name" is the five digit call number for the
course and section. If you do not know the call number, you may look it up
using this
Call
Number Lookup link.
