  1. How do I get Banner Access? Forms need to be completed and signed by appropriate personnel prior to getting access to the Banner system. All forms can be found on MyFSU under the MyWorkplace tab and Security Access. A Confidential Data Security Agreement is required prior to access. There are three types of Banner forms: 1) Banner Finance, 2) Banner HR , and 3) Banner Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid, and Student. Fill out the form(s) you need to do your job. If you don't know which ones you need, please contact your supervisor or call the Data Security Office at 231.591.2132.



  2. Do I have to have training prior to gaining access to Banner Production? Yes, training is required. Each area requires different training and request forms must be completed prior to setting up training. Forms can be found by going through MyFSU to the MyWorkplace tab and Security Access. If you have questions, you may contact the data owners of each module:

  3. If I have access to one Banner database, does it mean I have access to all Banner databases? Not necessarily. You must be set up with security access in each Banner database (Example: PROD, PPRD, SAND are all different databases). You may get access in one database just for training (SAND) or testing purposes (PPRD).



  4. Can I get access for my student worker? Absolutely! Please call the Data Security Office at Ext. 2132. We can discuss your needs and set up the student access with appropriate privileges. We work closely with the individual Data Owners. Please note, student workers do not get Banner self-service access as part of their work privileges.



  5. How do I get a Banner password? Since single signon is established for Banner Production access, you only need to access it through MyFSU with your MyFSU ID and password. Other Banner instances (databases) may or may not have different passwords. If you have trouble getting in to MyFSU, it may be that your Novell ID has expired and that you need to reset your password. Please call TAC at Ext. 4822 to get it reset. If you are having trouble with other Banner instances, please call Ext. 2132.



  6. How do I find Banner, WebFOCUS, Confidential Data Security Agreement and other administrative software forms? All employee administrative system forms are found within MyFSU under the MyWorkplace or MyBanner tab and Security Access and Training.



  7. Do faculty members need Internet Native Banner access? No. Only those faculty members who are also department heads, coordinators, chairs, or are taking on other administrative functions. Faculty get self-service access automatically as they are assigned classes.
