INSTALLING ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE
Ferris offers Symantec Endpoint Protection FREE to all of its on and off campus students to help to protect you from viruses. Symantec Endpoint will give the students the most up-to-date antivirus protection for as long as they have the product installed. Currently, ALL students living on campus are required to have the Symantec Endpoint provided by the university. IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS VISTA, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING STEPS BEFORE YOU START:
1. Uninstall ALL antivirus software installed on your computer, even if you already have another version of Symantec, Norton Antivirus, McAfee, etc. WARNING: There is a strong chance of making your computer non-operational if you do not uninstall any and ALL antivirus software before loading our Antivirus software. To uninstall the antivirus programs you have, follow these steps:
NOTE: You may need to reboot your computer after completing this step. 2. Download and run the Symantec Endpoint.
Note: If you are still having trouble installing Symantec Endpoint after you have removed a Norton or Symantec antivirus, run the appropriate removal tool according to the antivirus that you just removed. |
