FSU SKATES TO A DRAW IN SERIES FINALE BEHIND LEWICKI'S EQUALIZER
Aaron Lewicki (Livonia) scored with 42 seconds remaining in regulation to help the Ferris State men's ice hockey team register a 4-4 overtime tie against Robert Morris Saturday (Oct. 18) in a non-league series finale between the two teams at the Clearview Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Bulldogs trailed 3-1 after the first period, but were able to chip away at the Colonials' lead with the game's final three lamplighters. Ferris scored the only goal of the third period and what a big goal it was as Lewicki would net the equalizer after the Bulldogs pulled freshman goaltender Taylor Nelson (Regina, Saskatchewan) for the extra skater.
Lewicki, a junior center, would net his first goal of the season with assists going to sophomore defenseman Scott Wietecha (Wolverine Lake) and junior right wing Blair Riley (Kamloops, British Columbia).

Ferris State, which outshot Robert Morris 40-21 in the contest, overcame a 4-1 second-period deficit with two back-to-back goals off the sticks of senior left wing Brendan Connolly (Canmore, Alberta) and senior right wing Corey Couturier (Traverse City). For Connolly, his marker at 13:42 was his second of the season while Couturier produced his first of the campaign with 5:48 remaining in the second frame.
The Bulldogs' other goal came in the opening period and was the first of the game as freshman defenseman Chad Billins (Marysville) scored his first collegiate marker just 1:50 into the encounter on a Couturier assist.
FSU was unsuccessful in three power-play chances while Robert Morris made good on three-of-seven opportunities.
Ferris' Taylor Nelson earned the starting assignment and responded with a 17-save performance while Robert Morris' goaltender Wes Russell stopped 36 shots for the Colonials.
