FACT BOOK STATEMENT
The office of
Student Employment & Career Services assists students in finding on-campus,
local off-campus, summer, internship, and full-time positions.
Through SE&CS,
part-time employment is available to students as both on- and off-campus work
study, on-campus non-work study, local off-campus, and "Quick Cash"
opportunities. In addition, students/alumni have access to e-Recruiting which is
a state-of-the-art internet-based software package that allows students/alumni
to upload their résumé into the FSU Résumé Book, search and apply for
internship/employment opportunities and sign up for on-campus interviews.
On-campus interviews take place both fall and spring semesters with
approximately 150 employers participating per academic year. Students/alumni can
register with e-Recruiting and view a whole array of other career/employment
related information on our website at www.ferris.edu/careerservices.
SE&CS also
provides résumé review workshops, mock interviews, job search
counseling, group presentations. Every fall and spring semester the SE&CS
office sponsors/coordinates job fairs to assist students in their career
decision making, in finding internship, and full-time positions. These job
fairs are generally attended by 100+ employers. In addition, each academic
year, Alumni Relations, College of Business’s Internship Office, and SE&CS
present “Career Tactics Workshops,” which includes workshops such as an
etiquette dinner, employer panel, dress for success, etc., which allow students
to enhance their job search skills and preparedness.
