Helen's Garden Groundbreaking
According to tributes from her friends and family at her memorial in 1917, Helen Gillespie Ferris loved flowers, trees and nature. On September 8, 2009, a very special project was begun to honor Helen's memory with a memorial garden. The garden will be located between the Prakken and the Alumni Buildings, very close to the location of our original building, "Old Main."
Students from the ornamental horticulture program will design the garden, and participated in the ceremony.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 8 with members of local garden clubs present.
